Questions & Answers with Simon Clarke, ING

Q & A with Simon Clarke, ING

What is the current consent for?

We received consent to build 260 apartments on three levels across the length of South Quay. The current scheme would replace that scheme.

With the new plan would you take out any on street parking?

1 space maybe.

Are you advocating parking zoning in Hayle?

No.

You have permission for 260 dwellings how many are included in the new scheme?

20 houses and 10 apartments.

Where has the cinema gone?

North Quay – we have 4 expressions of interest in a 5-7-screen cinema on North Quay.

What about Parking?

The new food store will have free for 2 hr parking on the quay.

Is the footbridge still in the plans?

We are committed to a footbridge but if the community wants the money used towards lock gates with a footpath, we are willing to work with them.

Did you offer to become involved?

Yes we offered to redevelop the Rugby Club house at Memorial Park. I just believe the town and rugby club can work together to redevelop Memorial Park. After all they have been there since 1948.

Does the offer still stand?

Yes.

So what's the difference with your scheme?

We regenerate a town not a site.

You think it's that important?

The Harbour identifies Hayle – Nothing is more important than the regeneration of Hayle.

Simon Clarke is National Acquisitions Director of ING RED UK.
