A team from Northamptonshire Archeology have been working excavating part of South Quay recently as part of a study commissioned by ING into the structure of the Quay.
Northampton Archaelogy is a part of Northamptonshire County Council and has developed a national reputation for excellence in its works.
The team spent a week on the quayside and were joined by conservation and archaeological officers from Cornwall Council.
Initial plans to leave their work uncovered for local historians and schools to view were scuppered by Health and Safety officials who decided the trenches were too deep and represented a danger to the public.
A full record of the photography was taken and the results are currently being assessed by ING and Cornwall County Council.
