A walk around South Quay and Carnsew with Historian Stephen Levrant and archaeologist Tim Upson Smith attracted nearly 100 people.
The guided tour visited points of interest around the quay and walkers were able to hear historical insights into the life and times of South Quay, Carnsew Quay and Harveys Quay.
There was a lot of interest in Carnsew Dock, the edge of which is partly exposed on ING land, but which is primarily located under Jewsons.
Tim Upson Smith a regular face on Channel 4's Time Team described Carnsew Dock as the heartbeat of Harvey's Harbour. A comment echoed by Hayle Archive who described Carnsew Dock as "historically more important than South Quay".
The guided tour took in the remains of the temporary slipways, which were buried under rubble in the 1950's, and an explanation of sluicing and the efforts that are being made to reintroduce sluicing at Carnsew.
